A very interesting session this afternoon with Chris from HapiLegs as we discussed the trousers, inspired by his daughter's experience of v@ginal examination. Scroll through the photos for a better look.

Cancer Research UK estimates that more than 2 women a day die of cervical cancer, although 99.8% of cases are preventable.

In our area of London, only 40% of women and people with cervixes attend their regular cervical screening (smear test), and it's hoped this product will help increase this figure.

Unfortunately, it's been hard to get the foot in the door with the NHS and Chris wanted to get our thoughts on the product and to spread the word.

With Moon Practitioner Wise Women, @irishinfused @camdenbabywearing @kmmstconsultancyservices Assiya Shalabayeva (and the wonderful Oli and Annika) we discussed the use of the product in different scenarios and settings - and suggested that they might like to make the pattern available so that folks could make their own.

HapiLegs want to hear more opinions, so are offering the product free to the first 200 people who order it from their website (link in our bio) so that you can give your feedback. *Although looking at their website, I'm not sure how this works, hope you can advise @hapilegs_uk ?

This is such a simple bit of kit that could make all the difference, it seems daft that we're not being offered this as an option at our cervical screening and vaginal examinations.

Introducing Emily Naumovic @emilynaumovic , a wonderful Pilates Teacher with many years’ experience.

Emily is a Stott Pilates trained Pilates teacher with 10 years of experience working with runners, cyclists, tennis players, equestrians, and pure Pilates enthusiasts. She specialises in post-natal and restorative work, but equally loves challenging, ballet and strength-based classes. Most people describe her class as precise, methodical, and surprisingly but not overwhelmingly challenging.

She is also a trained Hatha teacher and yoga devotee with experience in prenatal yoga and hypnobirthing. She has a masters in social work and acts as a volunteer Peer Counselor at Mind in Haringey.

Exercise fads come and go, but the need to be taken care of is eternal. Pilates is a brilliant method of movement that will help you rediscover parts of their bodies that have been short circuited through stress or injury. Small adjustments create big effects on both your body and your mind.

Other facts about Emily:
🟣 She has a degree in psychology and my masters in social work from the University of North Carolina.
🟣 She taught English in Japan for two years.
🟣 She served as the Graduate Intern at the Rosalynn Carter Mental Health Program at The Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
🟣 She worked as a social worker in New York City for nine years.
🟣 She first started Pilates after my regular yoga class was cancelled.
Pilates allowed her to take up ballet in her 40’s.
🟣 Her favourite leisure activity is being in nature - she recently returned from a trip to the hill country of Texas where she and her family witnessed the solar eclipse of 2024.

You can find out more about Emily and book her Wednesday Pilates class via our bio.
