MotherTime – Plan Now for Your Fourth Trimester

To all you mothers-to-be, have you thought about planning for your postpartum period? The fourth trimester is a time that we need to understand better, what do you and your baby need to flourish?

Come and join me for this relaxed session where we will discuss how rest and support is not a luxury, we will explore the ways you can prepare for these early weeks and months so that you are more likely to thrive rather than just survive. You will go away with a better understanding of yours and baby’s needs so you can prepare in a more sustainable way.

Some of what we may discuss and explore

  • What is Postnatal Depletion
  • Nourishing the mother
  • Recovery for the postnatal body, where do we start
  • Understanding the true meaning of Attachment in Parenting?
  • Looking at expectations v realities
  • What baby products are really worth buying?
  • How will a sling support you both?
  • Creating a sustainable Baby List
  • Leave feeling more confident & relaxed about becoming a parent

Come with your questions, notebook and an open & curious mind.

You will receive information, in the form of video’s and PDF’s, after the workshop, to support what we cover & discuss.

Working from Moon this morning and these two magical rainbows appeared... 🌈 🌈

It must be the angle of the sun on these winter days β„β˜€οΈ

It made my morning, after an inauspicious start...

Meet Roxanne Armstrong.

Roxanne offers both myofascial release (MFR) and ScarWork treatments at Moon on Friday afternoons - more about those in subsequent posts. However, here's more about Roxanne in her own words πŸ‘‡

Hi, I’m Roxanne, originally from Canada.

I came to the UK to work in Theatre (Costume), then about 15 years ago I took a weekend course in massage which completely changed my direction in life.

So, I started my therapist journey properly in 2006 with JING Massage Training and a foundation in Holistic Medical Massage, then in 2008 I qualified in Sports & Remedial Massage at the NLSSM. I continued my training in Myofascial Release with MFR UK & ScarWork treatment of scars developed by Sharon Wheeler.

Pretty much from beginning I have been fascinated by Fascia and have always consider fascial adhesions in the when tailoring treatments for clients.

Growing an entire new human being in nine months is an immense task, but it is also one that our bodies are equipped to
accommodate.

Although, sometimes we need a bit of support.

The wonderful pregnancy hormones that help your body prepare for birth, the weight of the baby, increase in blood and fluid volume, coupled with the body's attempt to keep you upright and functioning can but tremendous pressure of areas such as the pelvis.

Osteopathy can treat a whole range of musculoskeletal conditions, such as pelvic girdle pain, to give you that extra bit of support in your maternity journey.

Once your little one is in your arms the birth hormones will take time to settle down, during this time you may be more prone to strains and sprains. To add to this, breastfeeding and carrying your baby can put a lot of pressure on the body – not helped by lack of sleep! Osteopathy can also help in the days, weeks and months after you've given birth.
