Core Rehabilitation Personal Training

Restore Your Core™ sessions are for women who want to regain core function. Janey works with those who want to heal a core issue such as diastasis recti or prolapse, as well as postnatal ladies who want to strengthen their core after birth. The sessions are also great for any women (with children or not) who want to strengthen their core properly, to be able to move in a more functional, healthier way.

Your sessions will involve an assessment of your alignment, breathing and core strategy as well as your movement habits and compensation patterns. You will learn optimum alignment for your body, breathing techniques to reduce intra-abdominal pressure, and how to properly engage your deep core musculature in order to rehabilitate the core and whole body back to health. You will always be given a set of corrective exercises at the end of the session which will be entirely tailored to your body.

Meet Roxanne Armstrong.

Hi, I’m Roxanne, originally from Canada.

I came to the UK to work in Theatre (Costume), then about 15 years ago I took a weekend course in massage which completely changed my direction in life.

So, I started my therapist journey properly in 2006 with JING Massage Training and a foundation in Holistic Medical Massage, then in 2008 I qualified in Sports & Remedial Massage at the NLSSM. I continued my training in Myofascial Release with MFR UK & ScarWork treatment of scars developed by Sharon Wheeler.

Pretty much from beginning I have been fascinated by Fascia and have always consider fascial adhesions in the when tailoring treatments for clients.

Growing an entire new human being in nine months is an immense task, but it is also one that our bodies are equipped to 
accommodate.

Although, sometimes we need a bit of support.

The wonderful pregnancy hormones that help your body prepare for birth, the weight of the baby, increase in blood and fluid volume, coupled with the body's attempt to keep you upright and functioning can but tremendous pressure of areas such as the pelvis.

Osteopathy can treat a whole range of musculoskeletal conditions, such as pelvic girdle pain, to give you that extra bit of support in your maternity journey.

Once your little one is in your arms the birth hormones will take time to settle down, during this time you may be more prone to strains and sprains. To add to this, breastfeeding and carrying your baby can put a lot of pressure on the body – not helped by lack of sleep! Osteopathy can also help in the days, weeks and months after you've given birth.
