I’ve been made aware that this will be happening tomorrow morning (Saturday 20th August 2022) at Highgate Road Chapel, which is about 150 metres from Moon.
I fully advocate for the freedom to follow your beliefs, so I thought I’d take a look at The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children website for some more information on what they’re about…
So… they “lead the fight for unborn children and mothers… fight for a fairer world.” There’s lots of talk of fighting…
Here’s an interesting paragraph lifted directly from the website:
“Ideas about ‘choice’ and ‘autonomy’ are central to the abortion industry [industry!?]. In reality, however, many abortions take place because a woman feels she has no choice - either because of her circumstances, or because she has been forced by her partner, family, or even medical professionals. It is important to understand the reasons why women have abortions - including the horrific phenomenon of abortion coercion - in order that we can campaign for protections for vulnerable women and their children.”
You’re all intelligent people so I’ll let you make your own mind up about this statement.
If you would like to peacefully show your support for a woman’s right to body autonomy then a gathering will be taking place outside Highgate Road Chapel, 2 Chetwynd Road, London NW5 1BU at 9.45am to 10.15am tomorrow (Saturday 20th August 2022). I’m currently in Ireland, on a family holiday, otherwise I would be there, making my feelings on this matter clear.

What are we so happy about!? @jencableart and I are plotting... 😁
Did I hear you say "social art project, focused on the realities of womahood"? Maybe...
It's all kicking off in three weeks time, with the grand finale on Sunday 11th September, in tandem with the York Rise Street Party 🥳

This 👇 A heartbreaking but all too real post from @root.medicine
I’ve just had a discovery call with a potential client, having been vividly reminded how re-traumatising intervention during birth can be for those who have experienced sexual trauma/abuse ~ especially those who experienced this in childhood.
When are health professionals going to wake up to the fact that internal examinations, interventions, smear/pap tests can be devastating for those who have been sexually traumatised?
Does it really take too much to ask beforehand if you have ever experienced anything which might impact on your birthing journey, internal medical examinations & procedures? Because from where I stand, I know this is doesn’t happen for many women. Only a handful of times have clients shared how genuinely empathic some consultants have been & the health care professionals who actually get this
•Pap smears don’t need to be painful to be to get a result
•Understand the psychology of your patient lying down, semi naked, versus you, standing, fully clothed
•Leaving doors open during internal assessments for others to wander in & out
•Inviting everyone & his mother into the birthing suite/examination room
•Sweeps by midwives with no compassion for a woman’s vulva & vagina
•pap test: 21-year-old woman “Oh just come back when you’ve had sex, I can’t get this in”
Medical trauma is A THING ~ feeling disempowered, unheard, not seen, not consulted, marginalised & being scoffed at for stating “that’s not what my body wants” just adds a needless layer of trauma, disconnection, numbness, stress & anxiety. And you can feel this mostly in the pelvic cradle but also it impacts the already dysregulated nervous system
Gentleness, compassion, empathy, listening & really hearing are skills that develop with experience & a genuine desire to help & to assist someone on their healing journey. Please always be mindful that words, attitudes & beliefs can impact & damage. Please teach this sh*t in Medical Schools
I have a session come available
