I create ceramic forms using handbuilding, mouldmaking and slipcasting techniques on which I continually experiment with low-fire, textured glazes and lustres. My stained-glass leaded panels incorporate kiln fused glass elements, fused decals and lead casting. All my work is informed by the urban environment of the city where I live and work as a paediatric osteopath: safe and warmly encapsulated babies share space with society’s poor and their cheerful skeletal dogs. Recurring images and themes relate to foetal development, birth and the biological journey that charts each human life.
