Stretchy Wrap Workshop

Do you have a new baby (or 2!) or are you expecting?

Would you like to learn how to wrap your baby in one of those stretchy fabric wraps? Or feel overwhelmed by the thought of using a longggg bit of fabric. Then this workshop is for you!

In a small group over 2 hours, we’re going to learn some amazing skills and you’ll leave feeling like supermum/dad! Having face to face support can flatten the learning curve and help to build your confidence.

The workshop will be run by myself (Jazz) and the fabulous Mel from Wrap a Hug.

What we will cover during the workshop:

  • The types, brands and main differences between stretchy wraps

  • How to carry your baby in 2 different front carries and in a hip carry for older/ more nosey babies, including different techniques to create a shoulder flip

  • We will also look at a Close Caboo, which is a stretchy hybrid

  • A tandem front carry suitable for twins

  • Positioning and safety for your baby/ babies

  • How to dress baby appropriately

  • Breast- chest- and bottle-feeding in a stretchy wrap

  • Personalised troubleshooting

  • Belly wrapping for the bumps to give yourself some welcomed support!

Who is it for?

This workshop is ideal for parents and carers who are expecting or have a new baby (or twins) around 0 to 3 months-ish.

Parents of premature or low birth weight babies are very welcome too.

You can come with your own wrap if you already have one (don’t go buy one for the workshop!) and/or try ours and you’ll be able to hire a wrap on the day if you want to.

Where and when?

  • The workshop is held at Moon Women’s Health, 63 Chetwynd Road NW5 1XB
  • Cost is £35 per person or £40 per parenting couple. The Women Supporting Women Fund is available to access for this workshop - so do not let cost be a barrier! Spaces are limited.
  • Hire fees are applicable if you would like to hire a stretchy wrap at the discounted rate of £8 for a 2 months’ hire instead of the usual £8 per month.

Please feel free to drop Jazz an email or whatsapp message if you have any questions before booking on!

Very excited by the latest artwork to grace the walls of Moon.

Inspired by the 100th anniversary of the Ladies' Pond, and crafted by local artist Jen Cable. The ponds hold a special place in many of our hearts, each of us with our own stories entwined into its waters.

There's even a specific term for the calming, meditative, and peaceful state that being in or near natural water creates.

Blue Mind.

Jen was first introduced to its charms by her grandma, some 50 years ago, and once you've had the experience, it never leaves you.

In Jen's words...

Jen was first introduced to its charms by her grandma, some 50 years ago, and once you've had the experience, it never leaves you. In Jen's words... "In winter I ease slowly down the ladder to meet the dark, icy chill that wakes up every nerve in my body.  A brief minute, or at most two, then it's out, past the icicles and off to a cafe to warm up whilst my skin tingles with joy.  In summer, moorhens, mandarin ducks and mallards swim by with their chicks from nests built on the life buoys and I bask in the cool sparkle of the water, staring up at the blue sky." What about you?  Where are you cooling off?  We'd love to hear your stories of the pond in its centenary year.  Or, if you've never been, then maybe this is the year to try; it's a magical place.4 days ago
