One-to-One Yoga Emily Naumovic
Emily offers one-to-one sessions both at Moon and at her home-based equipment studio in Crouch End with a Reformer, a Cadillac Tower, a stability chair, and a ladder barrel.
The Reformer is having a resurgence at the moment and it is easy to see why: the Reformer offers strengthening, weight bearing exercises for the arms, legs, back and trunk while also offering exercises that facilitate, balance, twisting, and articulation of the spine. Pilates equipment allows you to move with support to find greater range of motion and strength to awaken your entire body.
Weight resistance exercises are recommended for everyone to increase bone density and muscle mass, which has recently been found to correlate with longevity.
If you’ve never done equipment Pilates before, the equipment can seem curious and unintuitive--it’s not easy to guess how to use the equipment if you’ve never used it before. Having a one to one session to learn how to correctly position your body and learn proper muscle recruitment can make a difference between feeling that you are making shapes with your body versus learning to find energy within your body.
I am trained to work with people with scoliosis as well as pregnant and post-partum women.
