Pelvic Wellbeing – An Embodied Approach

In this workshop we will explore how to deal with the issues that can arise in the pelvic region, ranging from pelvic floor worries to separation of your abdominals and address the question - what is normal post birth?

Also looking openly & honestly at how you are feeling towards and in your body. This may be due to the change’s pregnancy; birth & motherhood brings but also the menopausal period that can often span many years.

We will work to improve your connection to your core and your understanding of what its function is. What is a hypo or hypertonic pelvic floor? We will look at how to develop balance within these muscles and better understand the role your breath plays.

Embodied movement will help you reconnect and begin to recover and rediscover a way back to yourself. Yoga can be at the heart of your postnatal recovery whether 3 months, 3 years or more, post birth right up to pre menopause and beyond. So all our welcome, if you have a pelvic floor that you want to feel more connected to then come along

We start small with simple, playful movements to begin the journey of undoing and releasing tension held in the landscape of the body. Attention to the rehabilitation of the muscles within your pelvic region will be interweaved into simple movement and postural awareness that you can take into your daily life, the space between yoga classes and treatments.

All you need to bring along to this workshop is yourself in relaxed clothing, so you can move with ease, and an open & curious mind. Included will be deep relaxation and breath work so do bring a blanket/shawl and warm socks and a journal if you know you like to take notes.

The latest piece from local artist @jencableart (Hothouse Flower) to beautifully adorn the wall of Moon.

Hothouse flowers' colours may be brilliant and their petals flawless, yet their beauty is fragile—remove them from the tightly controlled environment of the greenhouse, and they wither.

Every aspect of their existence depends on external care. They embody luxury, thriving in isolation from the harsher realities of wind, rain, and change.

In contrast, wild flowers can emerge anywhere, on rocky soil, under shifting skies, and on wind swept plains (much like the Heath at the moment😉).  Their blossoms endure cold snaps, nibbles from local insects, and sudden brushes with curious dogs.  Though their stems may bend and their petals may bear marks of struggle, these are marks of endurance, not weakness.

True vitality doesn’t depend on shelter from difficulty but on balance with the environment, responding flexibly to what life provides.

Where the hot house flower dazzles briefly, natural health endures. One fades with the loss of its careful protection; the other thrives precisely because it has learned to live and bloom in the open air.

So this Easter break, take a moment to step onto the Heath or Waterlow Park and enjoy the daffodils nodding gently in the breeze and the last of the crocuses pushing through.

Take a minute to enjoy the crisp air, flashes of green, new life, and the distant rustle of trees whilst you enjoy a quiet moment of renewal and connection with the season.
