In many spiritual and esoteric traditions, the waning moon is associated with the process of letting go, releasing, and refining. The lunar cycle is often divided into different phases, with the waning moon representing the period when the illuminated part of the moon visible from Earth decreases, transitioning from the full moon back to the new moon.

During the waning moon phase, the energy is often considered conducive to introspection, reflection, and shedding what is no longer serving us. This phase is seen as an opportune time to release negative emotions, habits, or situations that may be holding us back. It's a period for letting go of anything that no longer aligns with our goals, values, or highest good.

The waning moon phase is often seen as a time for release, purification, and refinement, both on a personal level and in terms of projects or endeavors we are pursuing. Embracing the energy of the waning moon can support us in letting go of what no longer serves us and in refining our intentions and actions as we move forward in the lunar cycle.

Now she blends slow flow yoga, visualisation techniques and yoga Nidra with her expertise in moonology and medical astrology that creates cyclical living with the sun, moon and stars.

The Acupuncture Collective resumes, after the holiday hiatus, this Monday (16th September), with Sophie and Dr Sunila excited to welcome you back for the Late Summer Rebalance.

Acupuncture treatments can be particularly poignant at the change of seasons when nature’s energies are shifting and impact on our own internal balance. 

In Five Element Acupuncture, it's believed that we all have one Element — Earth, Metal, Water, Wood or Fire, that becomes more easily unbalanced. If we are able to strengthen and nourish that Element, we, as a whole, feel more balanced and energised.

Each Element has an associated season, emotion, pair of organs and a set of physical and emotional issues that tend to arise more easily. 

This enigmatic Late Summer harvest time belongs to the Earth Element and it’s said that people who fit with this Element's patterns have great empathy, are peacemakers and like to feed humanity. However, when out of balance they can give too much and be prone to worry and overthinking. 

The associated organs are the Spleen and Stomach, so the digestion of nutrients is a key focus, and how your body transforms and transports nutrition becomes the concern of the acupuncturist. Sophie and Sunila often treat digestive issues, lethargy and worry and self-doubt.
