Camden Babywearing Sling Library

The sling library is a space where you can get help with pretty much all things babywearing and feeding in the slings! Jasmin McGonigle will do the utmost best to support you.

Who is it for?

The sling library is for parents and carers of babies, toddlers and preschoolers. You can also come if you are still expecting your baby and try some slings on with a demo doll/learn to belly wrap your pregnant belly if you fancy trying this out.

The sling library is inclusive and non-judgemental; we welcome all families and we don’t care if you haven’t been able to wash your hair in days!

What happens during your appointment?

  • Jazz will show you how to use your sling or the library’s sling by demoing, guiding you or putting buckle carriers on you (to speed things up) and then showing you how to use the carrier you want to hire. Each person learns differently, so she will adapt to you.
  • You can either use your own baby (best to check the fit of buckle carriers) or a demo doll if you prefer or if that’s easier (or if it’s safer within the time frame, especially with back carries or babies who don’t fancy going in the sling on the day, it happens!).
  • You will go over safety aspects and receive a safety leaflet (it will also be emailed).
  • If you run out of time and you need a bit more help, another consultant/peer supporter might be able to offer you extra time if possible on the day (we can’t make guarantees).
  • So as to accommodate everybody on the day and reduce waiting times, you may be paired up with 1 or 2 other parents coming to learn the same skill.
  • You can hire a sling/s on the day.
  • You can hire any sling for as long as you want, see fees and hire length below.
  • Feel free to hang out if you need to feed/change your baby/chat with other parents. It is a breastfeeding friendly space.

What happens after the sling library?

  • After the sling library, Jazz will email you links to video tutorials and sling safety.
  • You can send her pictures on Whatsapp if you have any concerns or questions.
  • You will be reminded via email to return your sling 3 days before the due date and you can choose to return the sling either at the next sling library session or by post (postal instruction will be given), or to renew the sling hire.

How much is it?

  • £20 for a 20 mins session including a 2 weeks’ hire of a sling or 4 weeks for stretchy wraps and Close Caboo
  • £20 for a consultation to learn some new skills with your own sling
  • £8 for an additional sling hire for 2 weeks

Hire without a consultation and also hire extension fees are; £8 per week or £20 for 1 month or £15 per month with a minimum of 2 months hire - then £15 monthly rolling. Additional slings are charged at £8 per sling per hire period max 1 month. Stretchy wraps and Close Caboo are £8 per month flat rate

The charges cover the cost of the room hire, cost of slings, boring admin stuff like insurance and IT, washing of the slings and other expenses.

Would you like to donate?

Slings experience wear and tear, therefore we regularly update our stock. If you would like to donate to the Camden Sling Library to support renewing our slings then please follow this link - thank you so much, we couldn’t do this without your generosity.

Jazz looks forward to meeting you all and supporting you on your babywearing journey!

Join Chi for tomorrow's Autumn Moon Gratitude Circle: Self-Compassion and Restorative Yoga.

5.30pm - 7.30pm
Sat 4th Oct
Moon Women's Health, NW5

Under the luminous glow of the Autumn Moon, traditionally celebrated in the East as the Full Moon of gratitude and togetherness, we gather to pause, soften, and honour the light within us.

The evening begins with a quiet meditation to guide you inward, followed by an oracle card ritual and soulful journalling to open space for reflection.

We then move into a restorative yoga immersion, supported by bolsters and blankets. In this restful and comfortable practice, the body softens, the mind unwinds and the heart remembers its own light.

Gentle sounds of singing bowls will weave through the space, creating a field of stillness and belonging.

This will be a small group gathering, held with warmth and care.

All are welcome. No experience is needed, just come as you are.

Balance your body, before the Winter Chill settles in at this Monday's Acupuncture Collective. This month we also have a special gift for you... (find out more in our bio).

In Chinese medicine, our immune system is made up of layers of defence, and Acupuncture is our Holy Grail in fortifying these defences.

We often talk about health as a marathon, not a sprint. With winter - and all its demands on our immune system - right around the corner, now is the perfect time for a pre-emptive tune-up.

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) perspective, strengthening your Wei Qi (Protective Qi) now is the best way to prevent winter colds and keep your foundations strong.

Whether you've been managing chronic digestive issues, navigating hormonal wobbles, or seeking support for your mental well-being, our Collective haven is here to help you.

We'll be working to build that natural inner vitality so you can greet the colder months from a place of strength.

Our next Acupuncture Collective is taking place between 2pm to 8pm on Monday 6th October. Find more details in our bio.
