I come from a dance background and have worked at a variety of dance companies (Flux Wave, Motimaru, Scarecrow, Co Yamada Un), led workshops (Laban movement, animal flow, dance therapy) and taken part in collaborations (Dance interdisciplinary projects, Site-specific performance).
Following a serious injury and long, difficult recovery, I had, at one point, given up on the idea of ever being able to recover completely. I stopped working and did a BA in Linguistics at Birkbeck University of London and an MA in Contemporary Art at SOAS University of London.
During my last year at university, through a dancer rehabilitation programme recommendation, I came across the Alexander technique. The Alexander Technique Applied to Performance course, taught by Brita Forsstrom in 2019, proved invaluable for my rehabilitation journey and finding my vocation.
Following this, I joined the teaching training courses at the City Alexander Technique School, where I had Alexander technique teacher training and Tai chi teacher training. I also completed vocational training in Gyrokinesis, Feldenkrais and other rehabilitative techniques training.
I recovered eventually and was amazed by the resilience and potential of the human body. My personal rehabilitation journey has equipped me with valuable qualities and skills as a teacher, and I’m dedicated to promoting holistic well-being through my teaching, integrating health and rehabilitation benefits into my class.
