Functional Nutrition & Life Coaching - Adults

I take the time to understand the full picture of your health — your symptoms, your history, your lifestyle, and what your body needs right now. Rather than focusing on individual symptoms in isolation, I work to understand you as a whole. Ongoing health concerns are rarely caused by one single factor, so I look at how different systems in the body interact to uncover underlying imbalances and support long-term, sustainable improvements in health.

Together, we explore how nutrition, digestion, blood sugar balance, hormones, stress, sleep, immune function, and environmental influences interact to affect your overall wellbeing. This whole-systems perspective helps uncover patterns and imbalances that may be driving ongoing or recurring health concerns.

I support clients across a wide range of areas, including:

  • Digestive and gut health concerns such as bloating, IBS-type symptoms, reflux, food sensitivities, and irregular bowel habits
  • Hormonal imbalances, including PMS, irregular cycles, PCOS-related symptoms, perimenopause and menopause support
  • Low energy, fatigue, burnout, and stress-related symptoms
  • Blood sugar dysregulation, cravings, and energy crashes
  • Skin concerns such as acne, eczema, or inflammation
  • Immune support and frequent infections
  • Mood, focus, and emotional wellbeing, including anxiety-related patterns linked to nutrition and lifestyle

I take time to understand your health history, current symptoms, and personal goals, looking beyond individual concerns to how different systems in the body are connected. This includes exploring digestion and nutrient absorption, hormone signalling, nervous system balance, and the impact of lifestyle factors such as sleep, movement, and stress.

From this foundation, I create a personalised, realistic plan tailored to you. Your programme may include targeted nutritional strategies, therapeutic food choices, functional testing where appropriate, evidence-informed supplementation, and supportive lifestyle practices that fit into your daily life.

My aim is to support your body’s natural ability to rebalance and heal, while empowering you with knowledge and tools you can use long term. Plans are collaborative and flexible, evolving as your body responds and your needs change.

Ali Masterman’s offering on Mondays 2pm - 7pm (other times available on request, please use the contact form below)

  • Initial Consultation (90 mins) - £150
  • Follow-up Consultation (45 - 60 mins) - £90
  • Introductory offer - £350 (includes 4 sessions)

4 sessions are advised

Our first session is an in-depth consultation where me and your child get to know each other and we work through a health profile form together. Following this initial meeting, I will create a personalised client report summarising our discussion and outlining tailored recommendations. We will meet again four weeks later to review progress, discuss what’s working, and make any adjustments.

If you would like to access the Women Supporting Women Fund to subsidise this session, find more details here.

Queen of Kentish Town - Livia Palmiero ladies and gentlemen.

We visited @wildisearth recently and were absolutely blown away by her passion, dedication and joy for fermentation, community and our beautiful planet.

Wild is Earth is next to the Sainsbury's opposite Kentish Town tube, with the bar open on Thursdays and Fridays (until 11pm) for a beautifully curated and produced range of kombucca as well as wines and beers.

Pop in, say hi and sample the drinks, it's only through community support that these wonderful spaces can exist.

This month Sophie and Dr Sunila are focusing on how acupuncture can support us through stressful and pressurised times...

Stress and anxiety can manifest in many ways - whether it’s racing thoughts that keep you up at night, a pounding heart, or an unsettled stomach. These feelings are your body’s way of signaling that it’s sensing danger, even if the threat isn’t immediate.

But when stress doesn’t switch off, it can feel like a pressure cooker building up inside. If left unchecked, this can lead to physical symptoms like tension headaches, digestive issues, or changes in your menstrual cycle. That’s where acupuncture can help.

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) perspective, stress and anxiety disrupt the balance of Qi (energy) in the body and scatter the “Shen,” or spirit. Acupuncture helps to restore this balance, calming the mind and reconnecting the body.

From a Western perspective, acupuncture regulates the nervous system, helping to reduce stress hormones while stimulating the production of serotonin and dopamine—the same ‘happy’ chemicals targeted by anti-anxiety medications. This makes acupuncture a truly complementary way to help you manage stress and anxiety over the long term.

At the Acupuncture Collective, Sophie and Dr. Sunila offer treatments designed to bring your body and mind back into harmony. Whether you’ve been feeling overwhelmed or simply need a way to let off steam, acupuncture could be the vent you’ve been looking for.

Needles in, stress out.

Join Sophie and Dr. Sunila at the next Acupuncture Collective and take the first step toward finding your calm.

Our next Acupuncture Collective is taking place between 2pm to 8pm on Wednesday 18th February.

Wow, a very generous donation from author Sofia Bothwell, a collection of her books focused on how addiction can manifest.

Sofia is holding a workshop, Healing the Eating Habit, at Moon on Saturday 28th February, where she'll explore the underlying causes of overeating, the emotional issues that can cause us to eat when full and the importance of raising self-acceptance.

We'll be learning more about this session in an upcoming Instagram Live (18th Feb), so you can find out more then, as well as via a link in our bio ('What's On in February').

Also, a reminder to check out our library next time you're at Moon.
