Menopause without HRT...

Are we pathologising Womanhood?

Why do Menopause symptoms vary in different populations - if we, in the West, talk to Nomadic tribeswomen about menopause they laugh - they do not experience the myriad of issues we do... why, what have we done differently?

Join us on Monday 17th April to hear an expert panel discuss...

  • Can we navigate the Menopause without HRT?

  • If we're using HRT, how else can we optimally support ourselves?
  • If we've not reached the menopause, how can we prepare ourselves?

Bring your notepad and expect to go home with a health plan of achievable, low cost, low environmental impact solutions.

Speakers

  • Caroline Gaskin: Caroline has supported women through menopause in her holistic health practice for over 20 years and will help unravel questions about how we experience the menopause.
  • Tanya Moulding: Tanya has worked within the field of olfaction for over 15 years and will be looking at the therapeutic and psychological effects of five sacred oils in relation to the menopause.
  • Desiree Diaz: Desiree has studied the Wise Woman Tradition of healing using knowledge of the wisdom of plants and will look at how herbs and yoni steaming can support us before and during the menopause.

The discussion will be Chaired by Ali Masterman.

We are also pleased to introduce the award winning Fermenti - delicious treats to boost your microbiome, which you'll be able to try, along with herbal teas expertly blended especially for the occasion, while you delve into goody bags.

Tickets by donation, you are also more than welcome to attend for free, but you must book (see below) - all profits will go to Menopause Support CIC

Schedule

  • 7.15pm: Arrive, have a tea and some wholesome treats
  • 7.30pm: Introduction of the event and panel
  • 7.35pm: Caroline Gaskin on the six foundation blocks for preparing for and navigating the menopause

It’s 1st May or Beltane, the ancient earthbound holiday day, celebrated for time immemorial.

It marks the midpoint between the Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice and the approach of weather to warm our bones (although in this corner of North West London, surprisingly, it’s already here 😬).

☀️Sunset to Sunset☀️
Beltane honours Life. It represents the peak of Spring and the beginning of Summer. All of life is bursting with potent fertility. The Goddess of Spring (the May Queen) and the Young Oak King (the Green Man), fall in love and bring forth life.

🔥Traditions of Beltane🔥
Beltane is a Fire Festival. The word 'Beltane' originates from the Celtic God 'Bel', meaning 'the bright one' and the Gaelic word 'teine' meaning fire. Bonfires are lit and folks leap over them to purify, cleanse and to bring fertility.

🌼Going A-Maying🌼
Couples spent the night in nature, bringing back armfuls of the first May or hawthorn blossoms to decorate their homes and barns. If you were born at the end of January/beginning of February you are a Beltane Baby.

🌱Maypole🌱
The Maypole is a familiar image of May Day and Beltane. A phallic wooden pole, representing the potency of the God. The ring of flowers at the top representing the fertile Goddess. The weaving dance with the coloured ribbons symbolising the spiral of Life and the union of the Goddess and God.

Enjoy today, feel the sun, smell the blooms of new life and honour the Earth.

We hope you've received the new moon newsletter, if not you can find a link in the bio, as well as signing up for next month's offering...

This month a very hard newsletter to write... here's the opening paragraph to give you a sense of the content.

I've been dwelling deeply as to the content of this newsletter, whether to amplify my thoughts on last week's Supreme Court ruling on the definition of a woman. I've turned this over in my mind for many years, listening to what others have to say, hearing the words of hate, anger, love and inclusion...

A lovely sunny welcome to Lola Fishbein, who brings her movement class to Moon on Wednesday morning - find out more via our bio.

Over to Lola 👇

Hi, I’m Lola - a professional movement coach, Pilates instructor, and lifelong dancer.

Being both a performer and a trainer has given me the gift of moving my body every day. After more than 20 years as a professional trainer - and a lifetime of dancing - I’ve come to believe one thing, wholeheartedly: Movement is everything.

Movement brings life. It fuels my growth and keeps me thriving. When I’m moving, I’m at my best - even on the days I don’t feel my best (and yes, those happen more often than you’d think).

When I move, breathe consciously, and take time to care for my body and mind, I feel pure joy. And to me, joy is essential. It’s not extra. It’s the point.

So what do I do?
Simple: I get people to move.

My training style is a unique blend of Pilates, Barre, Yoga, and Dance - woven into a seamless, dynamic flow. I work with people at every level, making sure my sessions are inclusive, empowering, and always adaptable.

For me, every class is an exchange of energy. My aim is to leave you feeling strong, centered, flexible—and inspired.

Join Lola every Wednesday - find out more in bio.
