Healing the Eating Habit Workshop - Sat 27th June, 17th October and 5th December
Born and raised in Ireland I suffered from compulsive eating all my teenage years.
Through reading books on alternative medicine, pop psychology and feminism I learned to heal my habit of eating when full (binge eating). I lost the excess weight, healed my obsession with size, shape and food through dealing with the underlying emotional stuff.
This changed my life.
At 20 I emigrated to London and continued my research at the Women’s Therapy Centre and Mary Ward Centre before setting up my own self-help support groups for compulsive eating women.
I now reside in Wales, having worked in the field for over thirty years.

Apologies, a little bit late on the thanks for those who donated to the Women Supporting Women Fund in June.
Thank you!
Your generosity ensured four women were able to access support from Moon Women's Health.

Very excited by the latest artwork to grace the walls of Moon.
Inspired by the 100th anniversary of the Ladies' Pond, and crafted by local artist Jen Cable. The ponds hold a special place in many of our hearts, each of us with our own stories entwined into its waters.
There's even a specific term for the calming, meditative, and peaceful state that being in or near natural water creates.
Blue Mind.
Jen was first introduced to its charms by her grandma, some 50 years ago, and once you've had the experience, it never leaves you.
In Jen's words... "In winter I ease slowly down the ladder to meet the dark, icy chill that wakes up every nerve in my body. A brief minute, or at most two, then it's out, past the icicles and off to a cafe to warm up whilst my skin tingles with joy. In summer, moorhens, mandarin ducks and mallards swim by with their chicks from nests built on the life buoys and I bask in the cool sparkle of the water, staring up at the blue sky."
What about you? Where are you cooling off? We'd love to hear your stories of the pond in its centenary year. Or, if you've never been, then maybe this is the year to try; it's a magical place.1 week ago
